Attorney Brent Eames has filed a lawsuit on behalf of a Chicago Police Officer who suffered serious and disabling injuries as a result of being struck by a taxi cab while in pursuit of a fleeing assailant in the line of duty. The incident occurred in the South Loop neighborhood of Chicago. Witnesses observed the taxi cab traveling at an extremely high rate of speed as it struck the Officer who was in pursuit of the fleeing suspect. The complaint alleges the taxi driver carelessly and negligently violated numerous provisions of state and local law, including the failure to exercise due care to avoid colliding with a pedestrian in the roadway, contrary to and in violation of Chicago Municipal Code 9-40-160. Attorney Eames is seeking damages for past and future medical expenses, pain and suffering, wages lost, disfigurement, and the loss of a normal life. The Cook County docket number is 2016 L 009639.
